ATTORNEYS AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING SURVIVORS

BACKGROUND

Attorneys play a vital role not only in the legal representation of trafficking survivors, but in the restoration process as well. On this page, we will explore several ways you may get involved from representing survivors to supporting the work of West Florida Center.

For attorneys who are interested in representing survivors, the following is a sample of the areas of representation needed:
  • Vacating/expunging convictions under §943.0583, Florida Statutes
  • Name changes
  • Public benefits
  • Family law
  • Criminal law
  • Civil remedies
  • Corporate
  • Immigration
Certainly, the areas of need are continuing to emerge and develop, so it is a work in progress.
HOW YOU CAN HELP

Representing trafficking survivors is a unique pro bono opportunity to play a part in changing someone's life.

Trafficking survivors need representation all over Florida. Also, out-of-state survivors need representation on Florida matters.

If you are interested in becoming involved or have additional questions, please email us at info@jrcenter.org or call at 727.940.2282.
